Our client wanted to transform a simple lawn into a beautiful, wildlife-friendly garden that felt just as enjoyable to look at from the kitchen as it was to spend time in. They were looking for a calm, natural space filled with colour, texture and the gentle movement of planting, while also creating somewhere practical for entertaining, relaxing in a hammock and enjoying family life with Luna, their much-loved dog.

Our planting-led design replaced the lawn with layers of pollinator-friendly planting, young trees and ornamental grasses to create a garden buzzing with wildlife throughout the seasons. A gently winding path connects the upper and lower terraces, leading to a sunny seating area, while scented perennials, a small water feature and natural log habitats encourage birds, bees and beneficial insects.

Existing materials were reused wherever possible to reduce waste with a border edge being retained to provide a path through the grasses for Luna. Several small trees and logpiles will be added in Autumn 2026. A garden designed for people, pets and nature to enjoy together.
